Gulf Power customers could soon see a new charge on their electric bills. Gulf Power, which services nearly 500,000 customers in eight Northwest Florida counties, is proposing adding an $8.21 per month surcharge to customers electric bills to recover $342 million in power restoration costs following Hurricane Michael, according to a release. If approved, the surcharges would show up on April bills, the Gulf Power news release stated.
