Heavy rains in the panhandle are causing new problems for local residents

Heavy rains in the panhandle are causing new problems for local residents. Officials said downed trees in the after math of Hurricane Michael are blocking the flow of creeks and rivers and the extra rainfall is creating standing water in areas that typically don’t see flooding. On Rolling Pines Road in the Sunny Hills area, residents are having to relocate because of rising waters. Officials with Washington County Emergency Management said they are offering sand bags to homeowners facing flooding.
