Doctors concerned Hurricane Michael thwarting importance of flu season

PANAMA CITY – As residents continue cleaning debris and rebuilding homes, doctors are concerned getting the flu shot isn’t a priority, and that could cause health risks. Officials say with more people living in close quarters because of housing shortages, the flu could quickly spread, and the city’s two hospitals still under capacity because of hurricane damage, are less equipped to deal with a flu outbreak. The Florida Department of Health in Bay County is offering the vaccine for free this season.
