Unemployment Holds Steady in Michigan

Good news on the employment front here in Michigan…

After several months of small increases, Michigan’s unemployment rate in January was unchanged from December at four-point-seven percent. The state Department of Technology, Management and Budget notes total employment fell slightly by three-thousand, and the number of unemployed people was higher by one-thousand. The national rate for January stands at four-point-one percent. Over the past year, the state’s jobless rate has dropped by three-tenths of a percent.
