Former Visual Arts Center director accused of extortion

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – The former executive director of the Visual Arts Center is being accused of extortion. Federal prosecutors are filing charges against Vicki Middlemas for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from the now defunct Visual Arts Center in Panama City. Prosecutors allege she turned in false invoices to the city for construction, and made more than $7,000 of personal charges on the VAC’s debit card.
