Flu season hits Bay County hard

BAY COUNTY, Fla. – This flu season the virus has been stronger than usual, and doctor’s offices in Bay County are being hit hard. Emerald Coast Pediatriacs said they’ve seen about a 50 percent increase in people testing positive for the flu, and are seing about 15-20 patients per day. Bay District School officials said they have not seen a spike in absences because of the flu and they have no plans to close school, however, they will be sending home a letter outlining flu safety tips with students on Friday.
